Northern line extension (NLE) 

Battersea Power Station has now handed over a large area of the site, shaded on the plan below, to Transport for London (TfL) to enable them to build the new Underground station and tube line. Tunnelling machines have now set out from the site on their journey to Kennington, and it is anticipated that the new line will be ready in 2020.

As Battersea Power Station no longer has any control over this area of the site we are unable to respond to enquiries about these works.

Progression on Circus West Village (Phase 1) 

More than 1000 people live in Circus West, and residents continue to move in to the apartments alongside the River Thames. Shops, bars, restaurants and the Battersea General Store have opened with more businesses opening throughout the year. The Village Hall has also opened and is hosting a wide range of events. A section of riverside park, reached along the riverwalk, via Grosvenor Arch, is now open to the public and hosting a lively programme of pop-up events.


Building Battersea Neighbourhood Group 

Building Battersea Neighbourhood Group meetings take place every two months to provide the opportunity for neighbours to ask our contractors questions about the construction programme.

Monday to Friday: 6.30am to 10.30pm

Saturday:6.30am to 6.30pm

Sunday and Bank Holidays:Works subject to prior approval from the Council.

Construction Timeline 

Circus West Village, Phase 1

Circus West Village is now alive with restaurants, bars and shops, and more to come this year. The Village Hall hosts a variety of events from comedy shows and weekly yoga classes, to exhibitions and talks. A section of riverside park is now open to the public and accessible via Grosvenor Arch, where a lively programme of pop-up events is already taking place every weekend.

MBNA Thames Clippers River Bus service is now available from the Battersea Power Station pier at Circus West Village.

Power Station, Phase 2 – Chimney Works

Rebuilding of all four chimneys is now complete and have been restored as exact replicas of the originals. Works continue in the Power Station building, which is expected to welcome its first tenants and residents in 2021. These will include Apple, which is moving 1,400 London based employees to a new London campus in the Power Station.

Electric Boulevard, Phase 3

Phase 3, which includes Malaysia Square and Electric Boulevard to the south of the Power Station, is now under way. Battersea Roof Gardens and Prospect Place will be built on opposite sides of Electric Boulevard and will be finished following completion of the NLE in 2020.
